Expansion: Medievallons- Season Two

Medievallons is a fast-paced card game for 2 to 5 players aged 8 and up. It is very accessible and has a manageable playing time of about 30 minutes. This expansion includes cards that are added to the base game.

In Medievallons, you have different Medievallons with their own powers. In this expansion, action cards are added to the game. This creates a new game dynamic. You shuffle the action cards with the basic cards, and then the game can begin.
The different action cards
These cards cannot be used to play your guilds. They are pure action cards. You use them when it is not your turn, but someone is trying to use a power against you. After playing your action card, it is immediately placed on the discard pile.

Shield: A shield protects you against any power used against you when it is not your turn. E.g.: an assassin, a baggar, a breaker, etc. In short: the shield protects you.

Breaker: This card can be played in response to another player's shield.

Baker: You can use this card to turn over all your cards from a guild. This guild cannot be used until the end of the player's turn. This guild cannot interact with other players. At the end of the turn, the cards are turned back over.

Goblin: With this card, you can swap two guilds that have been played, between two different players.

Lovers: When you play this card, you may expand a guild with another type of Medievallion. Choose one or more cards from your hand; these must contain the same Medievallion. Then choose a guild and add these cards to it. This gives you a guild with two different powers. When the guild is activated, you can choose which power to activate.

Conclusion

If you are a Medievallions fan, this expansion is definitely worth it! The cards add an extra dimension to the game and allow you to outmanoeuvre each other even more.

A small note: the expansion is only available in English. Not that there is that much text on the card explanation cards, but since the basic game comes with both Dutch and English rules, I did notice this.
