Coaching, Social Gatherings & Activities
Creating space. Empowering people. Growing together.
Through this aspect of Esmeralda Wolf Connection vzw, we aim to support people who, at a particular point in their lives, are facing difficulties, changes or challenges.
Sometimes life changes unexpectedly. A difficult period, a life-changing event, long-term pain, a loss of opportunities or another personal situation can cause someone to view themselves and their potential differently.
We want to help people take a fresh look at what is possible. Not by focusing on what someone can no longer do, but on the opportunities, talents and strengths that are still there.
Support that is humane and accessible
Our support and services are based on genuine commitment, experiential knowledge and a humane approach.
We believe it is important that support is not only available to those who can afford expensive counselling. That is why we make a conscious effort to offer affordable activities and packages, without compromising on quality, respect or personal attention.
We aim to create an accessible space where people feel welcome and where there is room to listen, talk, discover and reconnect.
Coaching and support
- regaining self-confidence and resilience;
- coping with long-term or chronic pain;
- relaxation and unwinding;
- learning to cope with difficult or unforeseen situations;
- discovering what opportunities remain after a major change;
- and reconnecting with one's own talents, interests and potential.
Our aim is not to solve the problem for someone. We want to explore together:
- What has happened?
- What does this mean for you?
- What do you need?
- What is still possible today?
- What options are there?
- Where does your strength lie?
In this way, we aim to support people in gradually regaining confidence in themselves and their potential, step by step.
Experiental knowledge as a strength
A key aspect of our work is the importance we attach to experiential knowledge.
Someone who has personally gone through difficult situations, overcome obstacles or had to learn to cope with major changes often possesses insights that cannot be found in a book. That experience can be valuable to someone facing a similar challenge today.
That is
why, within our non-profit organisation, we want to provide a
platform for people who wish to use their own experiences in a
positive way to support others.
Not from the perspective of:
'I know how it should be done.'
But rather: 'I
know how it can feel. Let's work together to see what might work
for you.'
Moreover, lived experience and professional knowledge don't need to be mutually exclusive. In fact, we believe in the power of collaboration between the two.
Workshops & activities
Not all support needs to take the form of a conversation or coaching session.
Sometimes, connection is forged precisely by doing something together. That is why we want to organise activities and workshops where people can meet one another whilst discovering their own talents and interests.
For example:
- drawing and creative workshops
- craft activities
- writing activities
- games
- relaxation activities
- social gatherings
- cultural activities
- personal development workshops
These activities can be organised by
members and volunteers who want to share their own talents.
For example, someone who enjoys drawing could lead a drawing workshop. Someone with a passion for crafts could organise a creative activity. Someone who enjoys writing could help others discover their writing talent.
Everyone has something to offer.
And sometimes the best thing about an activity isn't what's created, but the interaction between participants.
An exampl: coming together and connecting
We also want to organise activities for
specific groups who need opportunities to meet up.
An example
of this could be a get-together for single mums.
During
such an activity, participants could, for example, take part in a
creative workshop together.
But the workshop isn't necessarily the main aim. It's also about the opportunity to:
- meet other women from the local area;
- share experiences;
- make new connections;
- support one another;
- laugh together;
- and perhaps to foster friendships or new networks.
In this way, a simple activity becomes a moment of connection and coming together. We also want to apply this principle to other groups who need contact, support or a safe place to come together.
Sharing talent and creating opportunities
Within this strand too, we want to
continue our social mission. We want to work with members and
volunteers who may have struggled to find their place elsewhere. With
us, they can put their talents to use once again.
Perhaps
someone has always wanted to run workshops but never had the chance.
Perhaps someone has practical knowledge that could be valuable to
others. Perhaps someone is creative, has strong organisational skills
or is good at bringing people together.
We want to provide
the space to discover and utilise those talents.
This
creates a mutually beneficial dynamic:
One person receives support. The other gets the chance to put their talent to use. And in the process, connections are formed between people.
From vulnerability to strenght
We do not believe in a society where
people are viewed solely through the lens of their limitations.
A
difficult situation can make someone vulnerable. But vulnerability
does not mean that someone no longer has any strength. Sometimes you
just need to rediscover where that strength lies.
That is why we want to help people take a fresh look at:
- What can I still do?
- What am I good at?
- What gives me energy?
- What do I want to rediscover?
- What step can I take today?
It doesn't always have to be a big
step. Sometimes change begins with a conversation. A walk. A
workshop. A creative activity. An encounter.
Or simply the feeling: "I'm welcome here."
Accessible to everyone
We believe it is important that
financial circumstances should not be a reason why someone is denied
access to an activity or support.
That's why we aim for
affordable prices and accessible options.
Where possible, we also want to offer free or subsidised activities for people for whom even a small contribution is difficult to afford.
Through partnerships, sponsorship, donations and the efforts of volunteers, we hope to continue expanding this range of services.
Our vision
With this initiative, we do not aim to become a traditional service provider. Above all, we want to create a place for connection, support and opportunities.
- A place where people can come just as they are.
- Where there is room for vulnerability, but also for strength.
- Where experiential knowledge is valued.
- Where volunteers can put their talents to good use.
- Where people can meet one another.
And where a workshop, activity or conversation can sometimes be the start of something much bigger.
Because connection can be the first step towards change.
And sometimes, someone doesn't need someone to tell them which path to follow. Sometimes, someone just needs someone to say:
"Take a look. Perhaps there are more possibilities than you realise today."
